These annual awards demonstrate the Compact in action, recognising and celebrating the excellent partnership working taking place between government and the voluntary and community sector on a local and national level.

2009 Winners

  1. Compact of the Year 2009

    Compact of the Year 2009

    This Local Compact has made rapid progress in a short time. In 2008/09, Solihull published its Compact Plus and its launch event was attended by over 100 partner organisations from across the public, private and third sectors.

  2. Commissioner's Award 2009

    Commissioner's Award 2009

    Awarded in recognition of One Hull LSP’s commitment to developing its Local Compact as a framework for good practice across all partner agencies in the private, public and voluntary and community sectors. In particular, the involvement of the private sector impressed the judges.
  3. Compact Champion 2009

    Compact Champion 2009

    Jaqui has enthusiastically worked to raise the profile and credibility of the West Sussex Compact across organisations and across sectors in the county. She has been Chair of the West Sussex Compact Implementation Group for over three years and has willingly taken on this role in addition to her work as a senior executive in local government.
  4. Compact Award for Innovation 2009

    Compact Award for Innovation 2009

    The Judges were impressed with consistency of this entry and how it used the West Sussex Compact to underpin the Local Area Agreement and the National Indicator 7 target (“environment for a thriving third sector”).

    Compact Award for Excellence at a National Level 2009

    In November 2008, Defra published its third sector strategy, which set out an ambitious programme of action to improve the way it works in partnership with the third sector.
